JEWELER FOUND GUILTY IN FRAUD SCHEME – SAN FRANCISCO, CA

4/6/18 – Roger Kuo, 48 operated an e-commerce website specializing in watches. Kuo would offer high-end watches for sale on the internet although he did not have them in inventory. He would take his customers money and never send them a watch. According to Prosecutors, six victims lost a total of $161,171. Kuo was found guilty of selling five different watches ranging in price from $16,100 to $33,775. Prosecutors went through more than 50,000 pages of bank and sales records to locate the victims and their money. Nine victims testified in Kuo’s case. The victims came from France, New York City, Los Angeles, Malaysia and Nigeria. Kuo will be sentenced on May 17, 2018.
