1 suspect arrested, and 1 wanted following shooting at jewelry store

Sydney, Australia – On October 24, 2022, at approximately 4:45 p.m., the featured male suspect, identified as 23-year-old Paul Flanagan, entered a jewelry store with a shotgun and hammer.

Flanagan allegedly fired two rounds and smashed a glass cabinet. He then stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. The worker in the store escaped into the store’s backroom and activated the store’s alarm.

Flanagan attempted to escape by going on the back of a motorcycle that was driven by a second suspect. Flanagan then got off the motorcycle and aimed his gun at the police. The police then tackled him to the ground and arrested him. The suspect who was riding the motorcycle escaped. He was described as a male in his mid 20’s wearing a gray hoodie.
