On 8/10/19, 28-year-old Demetrius Eugene Woodson was sentenced to two years in prison by a federal judge. He was sentenced for switching real diamonds with fake diamonds at a jewelry store. Woodson pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit offenses against the United States. He was ordered to pay more than $89,000 in restitution.
Woodson, along with his accomplice, Rosean Levell Rogers, perpetrated several crimes in which they would steal diamonds from jewelry stores and leave cubic zirconia diamonds in place of the real diamonds. The duo targeted stores in Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and  New Jersey.
