FIFTH ROBBERY SUSPECT SENTENCED – MCALLEN TX

On 9/12/19, a judge sentenced 34-year-old robber Alberto Rafael Barrera to nine years in prison. Barrera pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated robbery for his involvement in a jewelry store robbery on July 28, 2019. On that date, seven masked suspects entered a jewelry store in McAllen, TX and proceeded to smash glass showcases. They targeted high-end watches. Four off-duty police officers arrived at the jewelry store quickly and proceeded to detain the suspects and secure the crime scene. Five of the robbers have received sentences ranging from 9 to 25 years.
