DIAMOND SWITCH – WOODBRIDGE, VA

On 10/16/19, at approximately 2:25 p.m., a subject entered a jewelry store and stated that he wanted to buy earrings for his wife. He selected a pair of earrings and said he wanted to see how they looked against his ear. He asked for a mirror and the sales associate turned to provide one. The subject handed back a pair of earrings and said he needed to get his wallet to apply for credit. The sales associate then realized the diamonds she received didn’t look right and tested them. The police were called and the subject’s fingerprints were lifted from the case.

The subject was described as an older White male with an unkempt beard. He is 5’4” and was last seen wearing a blue and orange jacket. If you have any information regarding this subject, please call the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at 212-687-0328.
