ATTEMPED SMASH & GRAB – AUBURN, WA

On 1/26/22, at approximately, 4:30 p.m., a smash and grab armed robbery attempt occurred at a retail jewelry store.  A male subject entered the location and approached a showcase containing gemstones.  He produced a tool and attempted to smash the top of the glass, but was unsuccessful.  A customer at the store informed the subject he was calling the police, to which the subject responded “call the cops.”  After unsuccessfully breaking the glass, the subject kicked the glass to the showcase and exited the store.  There were no injuries to associates or customers during this incident. The subject was described as Black, and in his early to mid-20’s. He is approximately 5’8”, and has a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and black shoes.
