On 12/28/22, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a diamond switch occurred at a retail jewelry store. A female subject requested to see a diamond engagement ring. During the presentation, and while holding the requested ring, the subject switched the diamond with cubic zirconia, placed it back in the prop, and sat it on the showcase. The subject then received a phone call and exited the store with the stolen diamond ring. The switch was detected after the subject was exiting the site. The subject was described as a Black female. She is 6’1″ and has a slender build and black hair with dreads. She was last seen wearing denim, a dark color coat, dark or brown sunglasses, and a black stocking hat. If you have any information regarding this subject, please contact the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at jsa2@jewelerssecurity.org at 212-687-0328.
