On 3/28/19, at approximately 6:45 p.m., a subject entered a retail jewelry store and said he wanted to look at solitaire earrings. The sales associate showed him a pair of solitaire earrings and the subject stated he was going to return with his wife. He returned shortly thereafter and asked to see the 2 ct. pair of earrings. Again, he said he would return with his wife. The sales associate noticed the earrings the subject gave back were different. After testing them, it was determined a switch had occurred. The subject was described as a 55-year-old Black male. He is 6’0” tall and weighs 180 lbs. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve shirt with baggy jeans and a baseball cap. If you have any information regarding this subject, please call the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at 212-687-0328.
