DISTRACTION THEFT – STROUDSBURG, PA

On 2/24/19, at approximately 5:09 p.m., three subjects, described as Middle Eastern, entered a retail jewelry store. They consisted of a woman in her 50’s, a woman in her mid-20’s and a male in his late 40’s. The subjects used hand gestures to communicate with staff due to the language barrier. The subjects proceeded to distract sales associates by asking to see multiple items. They also asked for the items to be placed into one box. They said the items needed to be placed in a box in their culture in order to be given as a gift.  The male subject displayed a stack of cash in his hand. The subjects stated they would return to the store and purchase the items. The subjects left the store. After the subjects left, sales associates noticed two items were missing. If you have any information regarding the subjects involved, please call the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at 212-687-0328.
