DISTRACTION THEFT – DUBOIS, PA

On 10/13/18, at approximately 7:27 p.m., a male and female couple entered a jewelry store and inquired about gold chains. The subjects spoke broken English and were hard to understand. The female subject removed a large wad of cash from her pocket and held it in her hand. The sales associate removed an entire ramp of gold chains from the display case. The associate then placed the display case on top of the showcase for the subjects to handle. The subjects advised that they were from Detroit. At some point during the presentation of gold chains, the subjects distracted the associate long enough to steal at least one gold chain from the pad. Both subjects were described as possibly Eastern European and in their 20’s. The female is 5’5” and weighs 125 lbs. She has dark hair. The male subject is 5’10” and weighs 160 lbs. He also has dark hair. If you have any information regarding these subjects, please call the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at 212-687-0328.
