DISTRACTION THEFT – PEMBROKE PINES, FL

On 5/21/22, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a female subject approached a jewelry kiosk and stated she was looking for a gift and was interested in seeing chains and bracelets. After a couple of minutes of looking at different items, the subject found two items that she was interested in purchasing. The subject requested to see another item in the gold-bonded chain section and stated she wanted to compare it to one of the previous items. When she was told it was a bonded chain and not pure gold, she said that she didn’t want it.

When the team member went to secure the gold chain back in the case, the bonded 24″ silver chain was left on the presentation pad. When the team member turned around, the bonded necklace was gone. Another customer was present: a tall black male around 5”10, with two little girls, as well a black woman of the same height. It is believed these other guests may have been with the suspect and it is not known who exactly may have taken the chain. The suspects walked away immediately after. The female subject is Black, and approximately 45-50 years old. She weighs 180 lbs, and was last seen wearing blue jeans, and a white shirt with red designs. If you have any information regarding this subject, please contact the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at jsa2@jewelerssecurity.org
