DISTRACTION THEFT – WOODBRIDGE, NJ

On 3/17/22,  at approximately 6:00 p.m., two subjects entered a jewelry store. They began looking at men’s wedding bands and asked to see a ring from one case.  While the case was opened, one of the subjects distracted the sales associate by asking to see something from the next case down.  While the sales associate turned her back, the second subject reached around and into the case and removed a ring.  Once the theft was complete, both subjects were no longer interested in looking and quickly left the store.  The theft was not discovered until case counts were completed on 3/21/22 and investigation completed on 3/25/22.
