Distraction Thief Arrested by Las Vegas Police!

March 26, 2021 - Las Vegas, NV

JSA is assisting Det. Justin Beveridge from the Las Vegas Police Department in an attempt to identify the subject shown in the photos below. The male is an experienced diamond distraction thief and has committed felony thefts in Las Vegas in 2019 and 2021.  The subject will distract employees while replacing loose diamonds with fake stones.  The subject will also use sleight of hand techniques to steal bracelets and watches.  He has been seen driving an older two tone Ford brown pickup with a white camper shell (possibly with Colorado plates). He has tattoos on both arms.  If you know the identity of the subject in the photos, please contact Det. Update: On April 8, 2021, 49-year-old Chad Schmiedeke, was officially booked by the Las Vegas Police Department. His booking photo is the featured image for this posting. If you suspect that he has been involved in any other crimes, please contact Det. Beveridge and JSA.
