DISTRICT ATTORNEY FINDS OFFICER’S USE OF FORCE JUSTIFIED – AUSTIN, TX

On 5/27/20, the office of the Travis County District Attorney Margaret Moore concluded its review of an officer involved shooting at a jewelry store on 7/29/18. On that date, at approximately 4:00 a.m., officers from the Sunset Valley Police Department responded to a burglary alarm. Upon their arrival, Officer Oscar Lopez saw a white four-door sedan parked in front of the store. As Officer Lopez approached the vehicle, a male suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Marc Antoine Carillo came out of the store and attempted to enter the vehicle.� Click here to watch a video clip to find out what happened next.
