GRAB & RUN – BAKERSFIELD, CA

On 10/12/21, at approximately 4:58 p.m., a male subject approached a jewelry kiosk and was looking at the cases that contained gold chains. The subject then requested to view an 18-inch rope gold chain. As the team member pulled it out of the case and handed it to him, he saw that it was too short for his liking. The subject then requested something longer and he was redirected to the wedge with the 20-inch chains. The subject then pointed at one which was a 20-inch 10k Yellow Gold Curb Chain and asked to see it, so the team member pulled it out and handed it to him to examine.

While it was in the subject’s possession, he asked if he can try it on. Once it was on his neck, he asked for a mirror. The subject then viewed the chain out on himself through the mirror and tucked it into his shirt. The subject then took a step back, turned around, and started to run away towards one of the exits of the mall. The subject is Hispanic, approximately 19-years-old, light-skinned, 160 lbs, and 6’0″. He was last seen wearing a black windbreaker with grey and white stripes. He also wore blue jeans. If you have any information regarding this subject, please contact the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at 212-687-0328 or jsa2@jewelerssecurity.org.
