GRAB & RUN – EL CAJON, CA

On 9/29/21, at approximately 2:15 p.m., a retail jewelry store experienced a grab and run theft. Upon entry to the store, a subject began looking around for a couple of minutes then asked to be shown a chain. After locking up the merchandise that was out, the team member proceeded to help the subject. The team member then showed the subject a chain and eagle pendant combination while it was still in her possession. After asking several questions about the item, the subject asked to try it on, and the team member complied. While the subject had the chain and pendant on, he asked additional questions then suddenly grabbed his hat sitting on the counter and ran out of the store with the jewelry on his neck. Mall Security and the El Cajon Police Department were notified, and an investigation was initiated. The subject was described as a Hispanic male, around 20-years-old. He weighs 140 lbs. and is 5’8″. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hoodie, dark jeans, and an SD baseball cap.
