SMASH & GRAB – MONTGOMERY, AL

On 6/9/21, at approximately 2:34 p.m., two Black male subjects entered a jewelry store and subject 1 immediately approached a team member stating he wanted to apply for credit so he could buy his wife something nice. The team member grabbed their tablet and told the subject he would need a few pieces of information and then they could submit the application. While standing at the gold case, the team member started building the profile on the subject, which is now believed to be fake information, while subject 2 stood nearby. At one point, the team member started having issues with his tablet so he started walking towards the back room to get a new tablet, when subject 2 pulled out what appeared to be a large wrench style tool from his pants and started smashing the front of the gold case. Both subjects then reached into the case and pulled out gold items and then proceeded to run out the door. A report was filed with the Montgomery Police Department for further investigation. Both subjects appeared to have been cut and large amounts of blood were left and behind and recovered as evidence. The first subject is 5″10, 235 lbs, and between 50-55 years old. He was last seen wearing dark pants, a dark t-shirt, sunglasses, and a red sun visor. The second subject is 5″8, 155 lbs, and between 45-50-years old. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt, sunglasses, and a dark baseball cap. If you have any information regarding these subjects, please contact the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at jsa2@jewelerssecurity.org or 212-687-0328.
