On 11/6/18, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of New York announced that 23-year-old Davonta Hill of Detroit, MI has been charged with Hobbs Act robbery and conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery. Hill and three accomplices are accused of stealing high-end watches from a jewelry store in Amherst, NY on 2/2/18. The value of the stolen watch was $400,000. The Hobbs Act disallows robberies that interfere with interstate or foreign commerce. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
