JCK Features JSA’s 2015 Annual Crime Report

Crimes against the jewelry industry fell 14.7 percent in 2015, according a new report from the Jewelers� Security Alliance (JSA), which attributes the drop to greater focus on jewelry-related crime by law enforcement.

The number of crimes against the industry fell from 1,381 in 2014 to 1,177 in 2015, a 14.7 percent drop.

Total dollar losses also plunged from $77.8 million in 2014 to $69.3 million in 2015, a 10.9 percent fall. That amounts to a 63.2 percent decline since 1998 in inflation-adjusted dollars and a 22.5 percent decline in the last five years.
