Robbers use bear spray in attempted robbery

Los Angeles, CA – On January 14, 2022, at approximately 5:35 p.m., five masked subjects entered a jewelry store in a mall and then proceeded to use bear spray or pepper spray to incapacitate the store’s employees.

As one of the robbers was going to use a baseball bat to smash display cases, one of the store’s owners fired a shot from his gun which scared off the robbers.

If you have any information regarding the subjects involved, please contact the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at jsa2@jewelerssecurity.org or 212-687-0328.
