Video: Jeweler’s Son Murdered After Chasing Thieves

Fresno, CA – On August 5, 2017, 22-year-old Christopher Leon, was shot and killed trying to fend off thieves at his mother’s jewelry store.

According to investigators, shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday night, three suspects entered the store and took jewelry.

They then fled from the store. Leon and his father pursued the suspects and a struggle ensued. Leon held onto one of the suspects, while his father went after the other two.

At that point, one of the suspects brandished a handgun and shot Christopher Leon in the head in front of his mother. Leon died at the hospital two hours after the robbery.

Police have arrested two juvenile suspects in connection to this incident.

 

Update: As of August 17, 2017, Fresno Police have identified two homicide suspects in connection to this incident. Click here to see the suspects.

 

 

Update: On August 23, 2017, the  Fresno Police Department arrested 18-year-old Angel Morelos and 17-year-old Angelo Sanchez in connection to Christopher Leon’s murder.
