Burglar arrested after stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry

Santa Cruz, CA – On April 7, 2021, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Santa Cruz police responded to a jewelry store following a report about a burglary.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that the front window of the store was smashed and jewelry was stolen. The police retrieved an image of the suspect from surveillance footage. Police requested the community’s help to identify the suspect. They received a response and confirmed the suspect’s identity as 34-year-old Gregory Richard Burros. He was arrested on April 8, 2021.
