GRAB AND RUN – HIALEAH, FL

On 5/4/22 at 4:48 p.m., a male subject approached a jewelry kiosk asking to see a 24” 10 KT Gold Chain. The team member showed it to him, and the subject asked for a mirror. The subject was given the mirror and while trying it on he asked for the price of a charm and another chain. The team member clarified that she could only handle one piece at a time and he had to give the chain back for her to be able to show him the second chain. The subject handed the chain back and the team member realized it wasn’t the chain that she showed him. The team member requested the subject give back the original chain that was given to him. The subject stated that was the chain that she gave him and said that he was going to call security and then walked off to the exit of the mall with the original chain. It should be noted that it was later learned that the subject attempted the same crime at a jewelry store in the same mall. The subject was described as a light-skinned Black male. He is approximately 29 years old, and 5”7. He weighs 170 lbs and was last seen wearing a dark baseball cap, a black t-shirt, and shorts. If you have any information regarding this subject, please contact the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at jsa2@jewelerssecurity.orgÂ
