DIAMOND SWITCH – NORTH RIVERSIDE, IL

On 10/19/19, three subjects entered a jewelry store and requested to see 1 ½ carat diamond stud earrings. They also asked to try them on. During the try-on, the diamond earrings were switched, and cubic zirconia (CZ) earrings were returned in place of the genuine earrings. The CZ earrings were returned with a price tag. This group has committed a similar diamond switch in Lombard, IL on 10/26/19. Their method of operating consists of one subject initially requesting to see earrings. He will then call his accomplices; a male and female subject. The accomplices will ask questions in an attempt to distract the sales associate, while the jewelry is switched.

The three subjects were described as Hispanic. The first subject is a 5’11” Hispanic male. He was last seen wearing a fitted baseball cap. The second subject is a light-skinned female. She is 5’3” and has long dark brown hair. Other than the third subject being a male, no physical description was provided. If you have any information regarding this subject, please call the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at 212-687-0328.
