DISTRACTION THEFT – HOOVER, AL

On 4/17/16, at approximately 3:40 p.m., two subjects looked at anniversary bands. The subjects brought two pieces of CZ Jewelry into the store with them. The subjects were then shown multiple pieces and asked sales associates many questions as they shuffled their rings during the presentation. The subjects left and the anniversary was noticed missing. After reviewing surveillance footage associates discovered the male subject palming the anniversary ring and placing it into his pocket during the presentation. The male subject was contacted from the information he gave for an appraisal appointment. Within ten minutes, the female subject called the store to confirm she had the anniversary ring in her possession and wanted to return it. The diamond ring was returned to the store.
