DISTRACTION THEFT – MOLINE, IL

On 5/31/17, at approximately 8:55 p.m., a suspect requested to see items and then asked for the opinions of both associates. As the two associates assisted the female, their backs were to an open backroom. At that point, a male suspect entered the store and walked into the backroom. The male suspect observed the associates, he also noticed the store’s safe was open. The male suspect then took $84,000 in merchandise that was in the safe. He then signaled the female suspect before he exited from the backroom. After the female suspect received the signal, she began tapping on a showcase to maintain the associate’s attention as the male exited the store. Once the male suspect left, the female left one minute later. The theft was not discovered until the following day. The female suspect is White and has brown hair with blonde highlights. She has a thin build and is approximately 5’6” tall. She was last seen wearing a gray v-neck long sleeve shirt with blue jeans. She also wore tan and black sandals with a large dark gemstone necklace. She carried a black purse. The male suspect is Black and in his late 30’s to early 40’s. He is bald and has a heavy build. He is approximately 5’9” tall and has a small dark mustache. He also has a patch of hair on his chin. He was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt with a navy collar and left chest pocket.
