DISTRACTION THEFT – MYRTLE BEACH, SC

On 12/9/17, at approximately 2:05 p.m., two male subjects inquired about engagement rings. The sales associate presented the subjects with clearance and pre-owned items. The subjects positioned themselves on either side of her. As the associate was showing an item, one subject asked her to see something on the other side of the case. Before she could get the case completely closed, the other subject secretly took a component with three rings out of the case. The subjects then told her he was going to buy the original ring, but he needed to get some more money out of the ATM. He said he would return, but never did. Both suspects are described as Black males. The first suspect is 5’11” and thin. He has a gold tooth. The second suspect is 5’9” and has a stocky build. If you have any information regarding these subjects, please call the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at (212) 687-0328.
