DISTRACTION THEFT – MYRTLE BEACH, SC

On 2/4/20, at approximately 12:55 p.m., a male and female subject approached a kiosk in the mall. After looking at several chains, the male asked to see a particular chain. Once he gained possession of the chain, he secured it around his neck. The female subject asked to see a ring. The sales associate then assisted the female subject. At that time, the male subject walked around the kiosk. When the male subject returned, the sales associate was handed the ring. The female subject then looked at her male accomplice’s chain. The two subjects then walked away from the kiosk. After reviewing the incident, the sales associate saw the chain had been switched.

Both subjects were described as White. The male is in his early 40’s. He is 5’10” and has a medium build. He was last seen wearing a blue costa shirt. The female subject is in her early to mid-30’s. She has a medium build and dirty blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a white shirt with black pants.
