On 2/27/23, at approximately 12:50 p.m., a jewelry store was the victim of a distraction theft. Two subjects entered the store and began looking around at different merchandise. The subjects settled at the display case containing the missing diamond ring. The employee working with the subjects began showing the subjects different rings within the side-by-side display case. As the display case was opened, subject number one reached into the case and pointed at the ring he wanted to see, and as he started to remove his hand from the case, he simply palmed a 3 carat baguette ring. This was all identified after the CCTV review.Â
