GRAB AND RUN – CHULA VISTA, CA

On 2/1/19, at approximately 4:00 p.m., a subject returned to a jewelry store after he visited the previous day. On his first visit, he inquired about bridal and trio sets. When a sales associate asked him for identification, the subject said he’d be back the second day. On his second trip to the store, he pointed to a set and said he wanted to buy it. The subject made the request in Spanish. He then gave a credit card to the associate and followed the associate to the point of sale counter. The subject then asked for the best possible price. The associate turned to check for “a deal” but he left the trio set on the counter. The associate said he felt the items were secure because he had the subject’s credit card in hand. The subject then grabbed the set from the counter and fled from the store. The subject was described as a 5’1” Hispanic male. He is skinny and in his early to mid-twenties. If you have any information regarding this subject, please call the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at 212-687-0328.
