On 7/29/23, at approximately 456 p.m., a jewelry store was the victim of a grab and run theft. A male subject approached the gold chain showcase under the pretense of shopping for merchandise. He was interested in men’s rings and gold chains. While he was at the gold showcase, he was presented with a men’s gold necklace to inspect. The subject then requested to see a second gold necklace to compare the weights. He commented that they were hollow or too light and he wanted to compare them to a solid gold necklace. Additional pieces were shown for him to inspect. At that point, the subject grabbed three gold chains and fled the store on foot. No injuries were reported. The suspect was in the store for approximately three minutes.
The subject was described as Black, approximately 5’8”, with a stocky build, weighing 230 lbs. He has a dark complexion, a goatee, and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and jeans, and he was carrying a Nike bag.
