On 11/5/20, at approximately 3:45 p.m., a male subject entered a jewelry store and said he was interested in a Cuban link chain. He said it was for himself. He also stated that his girlfriend had recently shopped at the store. During the conversation, he claimed his name was Jamal and that he was from a small local town named Fairmont. He was shown several smaller chains from inside the case, but he said he was interested in something larger to match the other chains he had. The sales associate went into understock where the larger gold is secured, and pulled out a chain. Once the subject gained control of the chain, he fled from the store. He was observed getting into a late model black vehicle.
The subject was described as a 5’10” Black male with a thin build. He was last seen wearing very light colored jeans with multiple tears, a dark shirt with “Nike” lettering, dark ballcap, a mask and glasses. The subject had possible scars on his elbow.
