SMASH & GRAB – TINLEY, IL

On 2/21/22, at approximately 2:57 p.m., two subjects entered a retail jewelry store and approached the case with gold chains. One subject requested to see a chain and charm he liked. He then asked the team member to put the charm on the chain so he could see what they looked like together, as soon as he was handed the set he ran for the door, leaving the other subject. The second subject then smashed the top of the case with his arm shattering the glass and pushing it into the case. The subject then jumped the counter and grabbed the trays and displays from the case as the door had popped open when he smashed the glass. He then ran out of the front door. No employees were hurt in this incident. These individuals appear to be the same subjects from an earlier grab & run at a jewelry store in Cook County, IL on 2/21/22. Both subjects are Black males. The first subject wore torn blue jeans, a black hoodie, and denim jacket with a design on the back. The second subject wore a black hoodie coat, black jeans, a black skully, and several gold chains. If you have any information regarding these subjects, please contact the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at jsa2@jewelerssecurity.org or 212-687-0328.
