SUBJECT IMPLIES HE HAS WEAPON – ELIZABETH, NJ

On 11/2/23, at 9:05 p.m., a jewelry kiosk inside a mall reported a grab and run theft had occurred. A lone male approached the kiosk at closing, and insisted on looking at a chain and charm. When presented the items, the subject grabbed them, and fled out of the mall. Mall security was contacted and the Elizabeth Police Department responded at 10:00 p.m., to take a report. In speaking with the store team, it was later learned that the subject was holding his waist with one hand, inferring he had a weapon during the entire interaction.
