Suspect arrested following gunpoint robbery

Greenwich, CT – On October 28, 2023 at approximately 3:43 p.m., 19-yer-old Edgardo Bautista-Gallardo was arrested after he allegedly committed an armed robbery at a jewelry store.

Bautista-Gallardo entered the jewelry store and asked to see jewelry, while wearing a makeup and a wig. After the jewelry was shown, he allegedly brandished a gun and threatened to shoot a security guard and employees of the store, if they didn’t give him jewelry. Gallardo was given the jewelry, then fled from the store.

The security guard followed Bautista-Gallardo and called 911, to alert them of the suspect’s direction.

The Greenwich police were in the area, and they chased Bautista-Gallardo and eventually arrested him. Police recovered a BB gun. Gallardo is facing charges of robbery, larceny, four counts of threatening, interfering with an officer, and breach of peace.

Bautista-Gallardo’s bond was set to $750,000, which he was unable to post. If you believe you were a victim of a crime committed by Bautista-Gallardo, please contact the Jewelers’ Security Alliance at jsa2@jewelrssecurity.org or 212-687-0328.
