Three suspects arrested for robberies targeting traveling jewelry salespeople

July 6, 2022 - South Florida

The two suspects pictured below, Allan Lucas, 30, at left, and Diana Grisales Basto, 37, right, along with Carlos Morales, 44, (not pictured), were indicted by a federal grand jury for robbing numerous traveling jewelry salespeople in South Florida of millions of dollars of gems, jewelry, and other property.

According to court documents, the robberies occurred in Boca Raton, Miami Beach, Lake Worth, Boynton Beach, and Fort Pierce between September 2019 and December 2020. A press release from the U.S. Department of Justice cited the “valuable assistance” of various federal, state, and local police agencies, as well as the Jewelers’ Security Alliance.
