Turkish Police Detain Colombian Nationals After $1M Robbery

Ankara, Turkey – Turkish Police arrested four Colombian nationals who are members of an international robbery gang.

The police detained four out of five suspects. The group robbed a vehicle transporting jewelry worth $1 million and $25,000 worth of cash on November 3, 2017 in Düzce. The suspects entered Turkey two months ago using tourists visas.

After analyzing 300 hours of video footage, police discovered the suspects home address. Liliana Gomes Osma, German Bernal Huertas, Ernesto Mesa and Julian Zabata Martinez were detained after police raids.

The suspects were preparing to leave Turkey and were seeking to partner with human smugglers to do so.
