1,216 PIECES OF COUNTERFEIT JEWELRY SEIZED BY FEDERAL OFFICIALS – LOUISVILLE, KY

On 1//5/21, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Louisville, KY seized a shipment that came from Hong Kong. The seized property consisted of over 1,200 pieces of  counterfeit jewelry. The shipment was going to Hollywood, FL. Officers inspected the contents of the shipment to determine if it was permissible for entry. An import specialist reviewed the items and found that they were counterfeit. The total manufacture’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the items would have been $707, 160. In the Fiscal Year of 2020, the CBP seized 26,503 shipments with product that violated intellectual property rights. The approximate value of the seized items was nearly $1.3 billion.
