DISTRACTION THEFT – CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA

On 3/17/16, at approximately 4:15 p.m., two subjects committed a distraction theft. One of the subjects said he wanted to have his jewelry cleaned, while a second subject distracted the owner. Surveillance footage captured one of the subjects attempting to pry open a display case with a coin, while the owner was not looking. After the subject was able to lift the display case, he asked the owner to do more work on the jewelry. While the owner went to the back of the store, the subject stole rings.
