DISTRACTION THEFT – ROSEMONT, IL

On 7/30/16, at approximately 1:00 p.m., a male and female subject inquired about purchasing gold. The sales associate showed multiple gold chains. The male subject asked to see multiple chains at one time. He clumped the chains in his hand, as if he was estimating the weight. A second sales associate was asked to assist in the presentation. After the subject estimated the weight, he handed the chains back as a clump. However, he kept one chain during his hand. As this happened, the female subject asked questions in an effort to distract the associates. She pointed across the display cases, to another part of the store. The male subject asked about the price and flashed a large amount of cash during the presentation. These subjects have committed at least seven similar crimes in FL, IL, TX, CA and LA. Both subjects are described as Hispanic or Middle Eastern. The male is approximately 25-years-old and has a short beard and short hair. He was last seen wearing a white NIKE t-shirt, black hat and sunglasses. The female subject was last seen with blonde highlighted hair pulled into a bun. She wore a white t-shirt and carried a large black purse. If you have any information regarding the identities of these individuals, please contact the Jewelers Security Alliance at 212-687-0328.
