DISTRACTION THEFT – MORGANTOWN, WV

On 10/27/16, at approximately 3:27 p.m., a male and female suspect stated they were looking for wedding gifts. The suspects decided to purchase four pieces of jewelry. They told the sales associate they needed to have the jewelry wrapped due to their religious beliefs. The suspects also stated they needed to touch the jewelry before they were wrapped. The sales associate allowed the female suspect to wrap the items. As this occurred, the male suspect told the sales associate he didn’t have enough cash and needed to get more. He said they would return to buy the items. The suspect asked the store to hold the jewelry for them. The suspects did not return. On the next day, the manager unwrapped merchandise and discovered that two bracelets were missing. Both suspects are described as Middle Eastern. The female is 30-years-old. She is 5’2” and weighs 125 lbs. She has dark brown hair and was last seen wearing a brown jacket with a scarf. The male suspect is 5’10” and weighs 225 lbs. He has black hair and a close shaved beard. He was last seen wearing a tan coat. Both suspects spoke French while they were in the store.
