Bakersfield, CA– On January 06, 2026, at the Valley Plaza Center a grab and run theft incident occurred at a jewelry store. As the Suspect and his female companion entered the store, they began browsing before the Suspect approached the employee and inquired about a 14k gold Cuban chain. The female companion began browsing the store as the suspect asked to look at a gold chain. The suspect then asked his companion to put the chain on his neck and after doing so, she walks away. The suspect then walks around the corner of the store whereupon the female companion follows him, both leading to the mall exit. Mall Security and the Bakersfield Police Dept. were notified whereupon an investigation was initiated. No reported injuries

Suspect(s) Description:

Suspect – Male black, early 20’s-late 20’s, 5’7”-5’9”, slim build, shoulder length dreadlocks. Wearing a black zip-up hoodie, green color track/ski pants.

Companion – Female black, mid 20’s-early 30’s, 4’10”-5’1”, slim build, long hair with bandana on top. Wearing black zip-up hoodie, black biker shorts, Croc style footwear
