DISTRACTION – PITTSBURGH, PA

On 2/22/17, at approximately 7:00 p.m., two female suspects committed a distraction theft. The suspects asked to see gold chains. They also asked the associate to see several different items. The sales associate removed several pieces at the same time. This gave the suspects the opportunity to confuse the associate and conceal items. � The suspects also produced a large amount of cash to distract the associate. They asked him to count the money. The associate refused to count the money and the suspects then left the store. The theft was not discovered until the following day. The thieves were described as European. One woman is in her 60’s and has a dark complexion. The second suspect is in her 30’s. Both are heavy set and wore black clothing. One suspect wore a black baseball hat and another wore a purple and black hair bun; she also had freckles and a gold tooth.
