Lewisville, TX– Police are searching for at least two people accused of stealing merchandise from a Lewisville, TX jewelry store Friday afternoon, according to media reports.
Officers responded around 4:25 p.m. to reports of a robbery and possible fire at Solomon & Co. Diamonds and Gold, off State Highway 121, the Lewisville Police Department told WFAA. The suspects entered the store, took an undetermined amount of merchandise and left the scene, police said. No injuries were reported.
Initial information provided to 911 indicated firearms and smoke may have been involved, but investigators later determined no firearms were used, Lewisville Police spokesperson Kaylin Cooney told CBS News Texas. The smoke came from a defensive security system activated by the jewelry store and was not deployed by those involved in the theft, Cooney said.
Detectives are working to identify those involved and determine what merchandise was taken, according to WFAA.
