On the date listed above, the male in the featured image, along with his accomplice featured below, committed a diamond switch. This couple has committed at least four other similar crimes.
On May 24, 2017, in Arlington, TX, the couple inquired about engagement rings. The male suspect exited the store. The female was given a ring. At that point, she tossed a CZ (cubic zirconia) ring at the associate and fled with the real ring.
On June 9, 2017, in Dallas, TX, the couple asked to view a ring. They handed the sales associate a fake replica in return. By the time the associate noticed it was fake, the suspects were gone.
On June 23, 2017, in Oklahoma City, OK, the couple asked to look at 3 ct. engagement rings. The associate advised them they did not have anything of that size. They then settled on a 1.5 ct. ring. At that point, the male claimed he left his driver’s license in the car and exited the store. The female turned her back, pulled out a set of keys and said her boyfriend would not get much from the car without the keys. She then fled the store. After she fled, the associate realized the ring the female gave back was not the ring she was presented with.
On July 11, 2017, in Shreveport, LA, the couple committed a CZ switch and took a loose stone valued at nearly $38,000. They visited and cased other jewelers in Louisiana on this date as well.
Both suspects are described as Hispanic and in their late 20’s. The male is 5’9″ and weighs 180 pounds. He has short dark hair and has worn sunglasses in all five crimes.
The female is 5’7″ and weighs 150 pounds. She has blonde/light brown medium length hair.
