On 6/28/18, 22-year-old Trai Jones was sentenced to 30 years in state prison for his involvement in fatal jewelry store robbery. On April 11, 2014, Jones and his accomplice entered a jewelry store and fired shots. After the subjects fired their weapons, the owner of the store shot and killed 20-year-old David Carter.

Jones pleaded guilty to robbery and assault charges. The robbery resulted in a woman being shot in her back while she was in the store with her daughter. The bullet is still lodged in her back.
