On the date listed above, Stamford, CT Judge Bruce Hudock told 33-year-old Erika Santa: “I’m telling you right now, don’t come back to this state.” Judge Hudock made the statement after Santa pleaded guilty for committing third-degree larceny. Hudock gave Santa a one year suspended sentence and ordered her to pay a $1,000 fine for her involvement in a jewelry store distraction theft in October 2017.

Judge Hudock scolded Santa by telling her that many people come to Connecticut from New York trying to perpetrate these types of scams, but they usually get caught. Erika Santa’s mother, 57-year-old Yolanda Santa entered the same plea as her daughter. The judge issued the same punishment given to the daughter. Judge Hudock went on to say: “Do not come to this state to commit a crime.” “You aren’t any good at what you tried to accomplish here.”

A third woman, identified as Paula Hurtado, from Astoria, Queens, NY was arrested for her involvement in the theft with Yolanda and Erika Santa. The male who accompanied them is currently serving a sentence in New York.
