On 3/22/20, Trumbull police arrested 25-year-old Brandon McLaughlin for stealing a $12,000 gold necklace from a jewelry store in Westfield Trumbull Mall last September. While McLaughlin was in the jewelry store, he asked to see a 24-inch 10 Karat gold chain. As soon as the employee removed the chain from the display case, McLaughlin grabbed it and fled from the store. While McLaughlin was in the store he tried on watches from various display cases. Trumbull police found fingerprints that were left on the display cases. The fingerprints were submitted to the Connecticut State Forensic Laboratory. The fingerprints were later matched to McLaughlin.
