GRAB & RUN – NORFOLK, VA

On 6/30/21, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a subject approached a kiosk and asked to look at the gold chains. He was very friendly and engaged in conversation. He didn’t display any signs of nervousness and he asked relevant questions about the merchandise. The subject asked about charms to go with the chains. Payment options were discussed with him. The subject asked to see a pair of diamond earrings, and they were handed to him. He asked to see another pair for comparison. The second pair was retained by the team member. The subject bent down as if he dropped the first pair and stood up without them in his hands. He grabbed the second pair from the team member, said “thank you” and began to walk away. Mall security and the police were contacted but the subject was not apprehended. Norfolk Police responded to investigate the theft. The subject was described as being Black, 5’6″, and having a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark shirt, dark blue jeans, a “Busch” camo hat, and green gloves (similar to garden gloves).
