4 robbers arrested after using bear spray

December 30, 2021 - Upland, CA

On the date listed above, at approximately 2:37 p.m., four suspects entered a jewelry store and used bear spray on everyone inside of the store. As a result, the business owner brandished their gun.

The suspects then fled from the store and entered into a getaway vehicle. The Upland Police Department received information from detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. That information was described as “invaluable suspect information.” Investigators had reason to believe the suspects from the jewelry store robbery in Upland were also responsible for other robberies in Claremont and Chino Hills, CA.

The Upland Police Department discovered that most of the suspects in the robbery were affiliated with a local gang. Investigators found the suspects’ vehicle. They found three of the suspects in Ontario City, CA and they found another suspect in Upland, CA.
